On January 2, 2008, The Master of the Order, Bro Carlos Azpiroz Costa confirmed Bro Kevin Saunders op, Prior Provincial of the Province of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Australia.
Bro Kevin was born in Melbourne, Australia, on March 23, 1948. He made his first profession on March 3, 1967 and was ordained priest on August 30, 1975.
At the time of his election, Fr Kevin was Socius (or Assistant) to the Prior Provincial and Prior of St Laurence's Dominican community in North Adelaide. He was also Chaplain to Blackfriars Priory School in Prospect and priest-chaplain at Aquinas College at the University of Adelaide.
